We are delighted to announce the results of the LISS panel Grant call 2024. In total, we have received 37 applications, of which we were able to grant nine projects. The interdisciplinary review committee evaluated the applications and ranked them according to the four evaluation criteria, as mentioned in the call for proposals. The committee praised the overall quality of this year’s submission, which testifies to the quality of the ODISSEI research community. Each of the researchers awarded the grant will field their data collection in the LISS panel for free. One of the projects was granted free access to microdata to extend this project. After the data in the LISS panel is collected and made available, it will be linked to the CBS microdata. Both data sources will be analysed simultaneously, expanding the scope of the analysis.
The projects awarded in this round include studies on inequality, parenthood strain and parenting models, perception of part-time employment, smartphone use and addiction or memory decline. While some studies opt for survey questions, others apply more complex modes of data collection or implement experimental designs. For an overview of all awarded projects, please see here.
For researchers interested in fielding their studies in the LISS panel, ODISSEI will offer another opportunity to apply in the Call for Proposal later this spring (with the closing in mid-September). As in previous years, next to the LISS panel time, we will offer one grant to expand the data collection with free access to CBS microdata.
