19 Feb: Introduction meeting to CBS Microdata and launch of call

15 January 2019

On Tuesday 19 February 2019, an introductory meeting on using CBS Microdata will be held, aimed at novice researchers. Microdata are data on a personal, company or address level that can be connected and can be particularly valuable to statistical researchers. Under strict conditions, CBS allows researchers to conduct their own research using CBS Microdata. At the event, you will learn about available Microdata, the practical process of working with them and further requirements and costs. The event introduces researchers to CBS Microdata in an accessible way.

The event is organised by CBS and ODISSEI. ODISSEI is the Dutch national data infrastructure for the social sciences, with 29 participants including all Dutch social science faculties, some economics and business administration faculties, NWO and the national planning agencies.

During the event, ODISSEI will also launch a call for free usage of Microdata by novice researchers. The MAG offers an unprecedented opportunity to use Microdata for your own medium-sized research, free of charge. In 2019, there is budget available for five proposals. In addition, regular projects from ODISSEI participants receive a 50% discount.

The event starts at 13:30 (walk-in at 13:00) and takes place at CBS The Hague. The language of communication will be English. Participation is free of charge.
